Wyoming to Allows Concealed Carry Without a Permit
Today, Wyoming Gov. Matt Mead signed a bill into law that will allow people to carry concealed firearms without a permit. The Republican governor is a strong supporter of gun rights for his citizens and feels other states will soon be following along with similar measures. Wyoming will keep its permit system so that there is reciprocity with states that require permits. Republican Sen. Kit Jennings says that the legislation he sponsored is restoring a right guaranteed by the state and federal Constitution. That right has been subverted by a permit system, he and other supporters testified in committee hearings on the bill. Wyoming will join the likes of Vermont, Alaska and Arizona as the only states that allow citizens to carry a concealed handgun without a permit. The new law takes will take effect on July 1.
