Community Involvement

The Umansky Law Firm Criminal Defense & Injury Attorneys is proud to support the Orlando and Central Florida area. Our team works every day to give individuals a second chance and ensure that our neighbors have a better life. See below how we give back and help the community.

Getting a second chance can make a huge difference in someone’s life. As criminal defense and personal injury attorneys, we believe everyone deserves a second chance and want to honor that belief by offering a scholarship. Plenty of students pursuing an education could be embarking on their second chance. That is why we want to do what we can to help. To learn more about the details of this opportunity, visit our scholarship page.

Know Your Rights

Attorney Rachel Mattie had the opportunity to educate students at Wekiva High School on their constitutional rights. She was one of the many great speakers that took the time to inform students how to use their rights in a safe matter when interacting with law enforcement. The event offered different activities afterward for students to participate in, such as the Know Your Rights 3 vs. 3 Basketball Tournament sponsored by the Teachers for Justice.

Central Florida Association

History of Ocoee Massacre and Legal Implications CLE

The Central Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers held a Diversity and Bias Elimination CLE event. Attorney Rachel Mattie helped put together this event covering the story of the Ocoee Massacre and its lasting impacts on the community. Even though the massacre occurred a century ago, its legal ramifications are still discussed today.

Florida High School Mock Trial Competition

Attorney Rachel Mattie had the privilege of judging students at the Florida High School Mock Trial Competition. The Florida High School Mock Trial Competition has some of the brightest and most dedicated students who use critical thinking skills, legal reasoning, and analysis to take on legal cases. Her extensive knowledge and dedication to representing the people of Central Florida makes her the perfect judge of tomorrow’s lawyers.
