No Charges Yet in Fatal Florida Car Crash

Police say that no charges have been filed and that no announcement is forthcoming in a case involving three young women and a deadly car crash that took place about three weeks ago. The Florida car crash has gained national attention after reporters linked the survivor of the crash to a Twitter account that had posted a concerning message the night of the accident, saying that she was “2 drunk 2 care.”

The tweet has created suspicion that the woman was driving under the influence of alcohol when she got onto the Sawgrass Expressway going the wrong direction. The discussion on this issue in the media has resulted in calls for criminal charges to be filed against the woman whose car was going the wrong way on the highway, although police say that they are not filing charges.

There is some significant confusion over whether the woman who allegedly caused the car accident was in fact intoxicated at the time of the crash, and whether she event wrote the tweet in question. Members of her family say that someone else has been posting to that Twitter account and that the statements made were not hers. At the same time, the reluctance by police to press charges despite the likelihood that toxicology screens have already been processed indicates that there may be some mistake about the events of that night.

Whenever a tragic accident like this occurs, the victim’s family and the community look for answers and seek to hold any responsible parties accountable for the losses and injuries that occurred. However, it is important not to jump to quick conclusions and to allow all of the facts to come to light before placing blame on any individual. In this case there are still a lot of missing pieces to put together before it will be clear whether any crime was committed or if the accident was just an accident.
