Expungement for Mexican Citizens
Are you a Mexican citizen vacationing to Florida locations such as Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, or Miami? Did you get arrested or charged with a crime such as theft, trespassing, or some other petty offense? Did you pay a bond or a fine and go back to Mexico thinking it was no big deal? You may be trying to move ahead with a career in Mexico, or ever back here in the United States and are having trouble because a crime you committed is on your record.
Mexicans who get arrested in Florida, Orlando, Miami, Fort Lauderdale and other cities in our State sometimes make a mistake. That mistake, while seemingly small, can impact the rest of your life. One mistake turns into missed opportunities and jobs, lost scholarships, and could ultimately prevent you from becoming a citizen here in the United States if you had a dream of becoming one.
Mexican Citizens Can Get Their Records Expunged
You might be eligible for sealing or expungement of your records if you were not convicted of a crime. You may be eligible to expunge your arrest if the charges were dropped. If the charge was not dropped and you pled no contest or guilty and received a withhold adjudication, you might still be able to seal the record. There are certain charges that are not eligible for sealing, so our attorneys would have to research to determine whether your case can be sealed.
Florida Legislature created the Sealing and Expungement statutes so that people arrested for minor offenses would be able to get a second chance at life by putting their past behind them.
