Client was staying at a hotel on I-Drive. As he attempted to enter the pool via a ladder, he discovered the top rung of the ladder was broken. As a result, he fell through the ladder and landed on the edge of the pool, resulting in a significant aggravation of a prior back injury. As a result of this incident, he required a surgery to his lower back. Initially, the hotel denied all liability. Through extensive litigation, we were able to show that the hotel had failed to take the necessary precautions to ensure the ladder was in a safe condition. Accordingly, we were able to resolve the claim for $250,000.00.
