Client was arrested for five counts of DUI with property damage after a Tesla camera captured the incident. Client failed to yield while turning left, collided with another vehicle, and struck a fire hydrant, causing over $100,000 in damage. When officers arrived, Client was already out of the car, and no witnesses saw him behind the wheel. Believing he had done nothing wrong, Client refused to cooperate with the DUI investigation. The State sought 90 days in jail, but we refused to accept any plea. We continued pushing the case toward trial until all criminal charges were dismissed in exchange for Client agreeing to pay a $163 civil fine for careless driving, a non-criminal traffic citation. This result spared Client from jail and a criminal record, allowing him and his mother to finally put this stressful chapter behind them.
