In central Florida, the largest school is the University of Central Florida. As many UCF students are returning to school, we at the Umansky Law Firm would like to send a friendly reminder: Do not Drink and Drive!
Football season is starting and tailgating pre and post game parties will be in full swing. Please just remember that if you decide to drink, make sure you have a designated driver. Your career should be important to you and getting pulled over by the campus police on UCF grounds or by the Orange County Sheriff’s office on roadways around campus will be not be a fun experience if you have been drinking and are impaired.
Please stay safe, don’t overdo it, and if you find yourself having too much to drink, call a taxi, a friend, or family member. Getting a DUI in Orlando can seriously impact your potential career in the long term and in the short term result in difficulties for you while in school, as your license may be suspended and you will likely have to attend DUI school. In addition to that, you will need to receive some form of counseling and perform community service hours, among other penalties in addition to your carrying a full time case load. In a nutshell, don’t let one lapse in judgment affect some of the best years of your life! Go Knights!
