Drivers with traffic ticket fines will be catching a break this April. Orange, Osceola and Lake County have announced the creation of Operation Green Light.

Operation Green Light will provide drivers the opportunity to save 40% on fees from unpaid traffic tickets. The initiative will be running for two days only on April 17th and 18th.

The operation was created to incentivize drivers who may have a suspended license due to unpaid tickets. Currently there are thousands of Orange county residents with overdue traffic tickets. Orange County Clerk of Courts Tiffany Moore Russell said, “Operation Green Light is a chance for people to pay their fine, save the 40 percent collections surcharge and restore their driving privileges. By opening select locations on a Saturday, we’re making it convenient for customers who need to make a payment to come in and do so.”

For those taking advantage of the discounted fees their licenses can be reinstated at the courthouse but the fine must be paid in full at the time of reinstatement.

Orange County will be accepting discounted payments on April 17th from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. while both Osceola and Lake County will be offering the discount on April 18th from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
