Client was charged with Possession of Hydrocodone (a felony) and DUI with a BAC over .15. During the DUI arrest, police found loose pills in Client’s pockets, and he explained they were from an old prescription. Although the prescription did not match the pills, we persuaded the State to drop the felony charge entirely in exchange for a plea to the DUI. The State also agreed to stipulate to a BAC below .15, removing the requirement for an ignition interlock device. This result spared Client from a felony conviction, minimized penalties, and allowed him to quickly close the case and protect his employment.
