Client, who has a learning disability, was charged with Petit Theft after mistakenly failing to scan several items at Target. We gathered and presented mental health and school records provided by Client’s mother to the prosecutor, which led to Client’s acceptance into a first-time offender diversion program. Client completed all requirements within one week, and the case was dismissed. This result allows Client to expunge his record and move forward confidently with his college plans and future.
